Data Architect/Team Lead in San Francisco, CA or Phoenix, Arizona with proven ability to: a) architect data models to support very large data sets and heavy user loads; b) manage internal and external resources to meet development and administrative deliverables; c) expert level developer and administrator skills with Oracle and PL/SQL; d) desire and preference to work in early start-up environment; e) Bonus points: java, apache, tomcat, flex, php, statistical/mathematical software, cloud computing, prior experience with Chinese based development teams, spreadsheet skills related to financial/budgetary planning, strong writing ability for requirements drafting.

Skills
Responsibilities include:

- designing and maintaining the data model, data naming standards, and data type standards

- designing repeatable, configurable, and automated processes to Transform and Load (ETL) external data into the application database

- designing crowd sourcing methods to allow users to improve data quality

- reviewing procedural code for compliance with data model standards and integrity

- assisting and guiding team members in development of code to access and maintain the data

- developing and testing code as necessary to meet deadlines and objectives

Requirements include:
- proven ability to generalize, abstract, parameterize, design and maintain automated processes

- proven ability to lead and manage

- excellent communication skills

- works with sense of urgency while being focused on long term objectives

- ability to develop, design and delegate

- experience with Oracle; ETL tools (Pervasive, Informatica, etc.); retail product, pricing and promotion data; and online retail data are all strongly preferred
