ENZI - http://enzi.org/ - is a peer to peer social investing venture run by Stanford and Wharton alums that lets people invest in students' education in return for a share in their future income for a fixed period of time. We aim to remove the financial barrier to education and pioneer a new social asset class with the power to unlock human potential and move financial markets. Enzi launched its first class at Stanford with the support of university administration and law firm Orrick. We are talking with interested investors for seed funding to scale.
Enzi is a 2010 finalist for the prestigious Echoing Green Social Entrepreneurs Fellowship (results TBD), with a recommendation by Jessica Jackley, Co-Founder of Kiva! We have been featured on Forbes and Philanthrocapitalism, a blog run by the New York bureau chief of The Economist!
We're looking for rockstars interested in the following roles...
INTERN: You'll have the opportunity to assist in all aspects of a startup - research; data analysis; reaching out to potential partners and investors; helping create pitch decks; marketing, branding, PR; website; learning about legal innovations that make Enzi's model possible, etc. Great Startup 101! You should have one or more of the following: mad Powerpoint skills, design experience; SPSS knowledge or ability to learn quickly; passion for startups and/or social entrepreneurship; desire to jump in and take ownership. Brownie points if you're techie and can program! Depending on how you do, there will be opportunities to move into a full-time role with Enzi, especially if you can code.
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE: You will refine the financial model for future income contract design, engineer contract terms for future students, develop and negotiate relationships with banks, credit bureaus, 3rd party data sources, and other players in the education finance/P2P finance space, and manage company finances and outcome of the pilot fund. You should have a background in one or more of the following: credit risk/underwriting policy, financial analysis and valuations modeling, probabilistic modeling and decision analysis, and general accounting. Ideally, you will have contacts in the education finance space, are passionate about the idea, and love the startup world/entrepreneurial life. Please note that this is a key role on the founding team so the ideal candidate will have an interest in a full-time position with Enzi in the near future.
If you're one of the above, or even if you're not but think we should consider you for the team anyway because you got skillz, please send a resume and brief cover letter describing your interests and qualifications to Founder & CEO Ashni Mohnot (ashni@enzi.org).
