Technologies Required:
Excellent PHP skills, ZEND framework
Architecture ability - demonstrated experience on a high volume website
JSON, SOAP
MySQL, or similar – strong on schema design and db design.
Java – for the hardcore processing engine
Apache, Web services (opening API’s), indexing technologies, distributed computing, SSL/HTTPS,
General knowledge of Linux / UNIX
OOP, OOD
Desired: Lucene, JAVA and Javascript a plus - will be important in near future for servlets, elements, etc.
Experience/background required:
• At least 5 years of webdev working experience, and 2 years of architecture.
• Independent and highly motivated.
• Can design and implement from requirements.
• Ability to develop data models for high-performance MySQL back-end, including the use of stored procedures and optimal indexing strategies
• Strong understanding of interfacing with AJAX-styled applications with PHP
• Ability to interface with existing APIs (i.e. Google Maps, social API’s, etc.)
• Experience with performance optimization (ex: Apache configuration, Memcached)
• Full life cycle development and testing
• Computer Science degree or similar preferred.
• High volume websites or complex data management, analysis and mining software systems experience.
• Experience in ecommerce or business applications, social networks, financial, product comparisons, or search (less preferably: media, news, corporate sites):

We are a creating a next-generation eCommerce community with creative marketplace customization options leading to very efficient searches, comparisons, localization, and transactions. No direct competitors with this unique approach.
Please live a manageable commute to Cupertino, California, for early-stage, in-person meetings and future company growth, but this position will initially be primarily a telecommute position until sometime past launch and first full funding round (apprx 2-3 months). Have a home office arrangement.
Perfect for a start-up addict ready for the next new thing, or someone finally ready to make the startup plunge. Hours can be flexible, but please be able to meet during some typical business hours, and be versed in collaboration tools and habits for remote users. If you have the talent, we can give you initial flexibility!
Contract now for equity with possible post-funding bonus. Compensation depends on your skillset and time to commit. Salaries post-funding will meet the market and include benefits. Must be able to work 50% minimum these first few months, and can be in conjunction with winding down another job, but full time is preferred. Negotiate now for full time employee salary upon funding. We will grow fast - join us at this very early stage.
