The Opportunity
SoundFit sells custom-fit adapters for consumer grade in-ear phone and music headsets that it manufactures using 3D printers that use digital ear geometry files of the customer's ears. SoundFit’s R&D team has developed technology that captures the geometry of the ear. Our R&D prototype has reached the proof of feasibility stage. We are recruiting a team member to manage the manufacturing process for our prototype. We are seeking an experienced project manager who is familiar with the breadth of expertise of a large number of potential engineering design companies, and with managing projects with them from RFP to completion and manufacturing.

The Skill Set
* Identify appropriate Engineering Design companies (and later contract manufacturers)who should have the right combination of technology skills in electronics, packaging, 3D printing and industrial design for consumer applications to send RFP and RFQs.
* Manage the solicitation of interest, exchange of NDAs, distribution of RFPs and RFQs and collection of proposals and bids.
* Coordinate communications between bidding companies and our chief engineer, our product strategist, and our domain & manufacturing expert.
* Manage the selection process, including negotiating changes, and notification of bidders of final selection.
* Manage communication, milestones, reviews and responses, and change management throughout the project, ensuring the project is completed on schedule and within budget.

The Compensation
The initial solicitation of RFPs is being done while the company is boot-strapping, and this work can only be compensated through equity. We plan to use the bids to create a budget and to raise money from the Silicon Valley venture community to cover the development costs of Phase I. Once we raise those funds, the remainder of this job will be compensated through a combination of cash and stock. We anticipate a 2nd capital raise after our pilot test to cover Phase II's large scale production of our store units, as well as the cost of the Phase III work. Depending on the company's cash reserves at the time a 3rd capital raise may be done to cover large scale production of 3D Printer accessories.
