Fermyon is an early stage mobile startup focused on the Retail (brick-and-mortar) space. Our vision is to revolutionize the in-store shopping experience by combining the power of mobile technology and customer analytics. The founding team consists of UC Berkeley MBAs and seasoned Silicon Valley technologists. We have a fully functional prototype of the product, which has received strong validation from several executives at top US retailers. Fermyon also has a stellar advisory board comprised of ex-entrepreneurs, reputed Venture Capitalists, and UC Berkeley faculty.

We are looking for a hands on architect who can work closely with the founding team to release the first production-ready version of the product. Given below is the expected skillset for this role:

* 3 - 5 years experience in selection of hardware, database installations and maintenance
* 3 - 5 years experience in design, creation and support of development and production databases
* 2 - 3 years experience in setting up an operations support team for database
* At least 3 years experience in scalability of databases (upgrade, expansion of capacity) for OLTP systems
* 3 - 5 years experience in performance tuning of databases for OLTP systems
* 2 - 3 years experience in Oracle as a database administrator is a must
* Ability to lead and guide a team of database developers to deploy OLTP solutions
* Ability to defined database architecture for OLTP systems
* 2 - 3 years experience in database clustering and management
