We are looking for awesome PHP developers and product managers who are passionate about everyday health/wellness and about building a well-designed, user-centric product.
By the numbers, our team is evenly split between geeks from the games/social media space and health/wellness freaks - all committed to building a product that each of us use regularly and are passionate about. We aggregate personal health data using our patent-pending hardware, mine that data to help people lead healthier lives, and make it meaningful through an amazing, game-like experience on web and mobile.
The right candidate will have been tinkering with the social web for a decade or so. We'd like you to have 4+ years of experience, although we really treasure enthusiasm and inquisitiveness over experience. You get a strong say in hiring so it's critical that you know how to find the right talent to build an awesome team that plays well together. Must be an active user of social and web/mobile experiences. Effective, concise writing skills are a big plus, as is work experience interfacing with the Facebook API and a hardware team.
We are using PHP5/Zend and an array of home-baked backend tech to build a large-scale application in the health/wellness space, solving problems that aren't particularly solved (yet), with a biometric data set few people have seen before. We are serious about agile processes, test-driven development, continuous deployment, pair programming (especially with developers working on non-view code) and clean, well-documented code. Our web product is built using a combination of PHP 5.3, Zend Framework, php-activerecord, phpunit, and jQuery. Experience working with ZF is ideal, but at least be very familiar with a similar MVC based framework.
Why you should apply:
You'll be an important part of a small, smart, agile company free of meetings and big-company politics, and working on an interesting user-facing product. This is an amazing opportunity to build the team around you that you've always wanted. Our startup is funded by prominent angels and we have a clearly-monetizable opportunity. We are located in the wonderful, sunny Mission district of San Francisco, close to public transportation and a variety of restaurants.
To apply, send along a quick résumé to jobs@pulsetracer.com and we'll take a look. Links to some of your work or open-source contributions would be a plus.
Thanks!
