
Party Earth is looking for a QA/Requirements Analyst to gather user requirements, create functional specifications, and test new and enhanced features of the Party Earth website (www.partyearth.com) and digital applications. This person should be extremely detail oriented and have a passion for testing applications to ensure correct functionality and an exceptional user experience.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in the system development lifecycle, primarily in the requirements, design, and testing phases
• Participate in requirements gathering sessions and document website and mobile application requirements
• Assist in creating use cases that define user interaction on the website and mobile applications
• Participate in wireframes, design, and user experience discussions
• Create test plans and define test scenarios accounting for all business and functional requirements
• Execute QA and test scenarios to verify features are functioning properly and identify bugs/issues
• Execute test scenarios on multiple browsers and mobile devices
• Setup and execute regression tests and ongoing tests via automated test tools
• Document and report bugs/issues to the technical team and monitor bug fixes for re-test
• Become an expert on website and mobile application functionality
• Identify and test production issues identified by users and report issues to the technical team
• Continually collaborate with the content team and cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate site needs, new features, and enhancements
Qualifications
• 2-4 years of relevant web, requirements, and/or testing experience
• Experience in testing and/or defining requirements/features for web technologies – ideally in the media and entertainment industry – including:
o Content-focused websites (written, photo, video, and user-generated content)
o User communities/Social networks
o Content management systems
o User-generated content
o Mobile sites and mobile applications
o Search Engine Optimization
o Marketing and advertising components
o E-commerce/store/shopping cart
o Use of third-party sites, tools, and functionality (i.e. Google Maps, You Tube)
o E-mail marketing
• Results-oriented self-starter with a high level of initiative, ability to work independently, and strong sense of ownership
• Strong QA/testing skills including defining use cases, test scenarios, creating and executing test plans, and tracking bugs/issues to completion
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams to define and understand the key functional and technical product features
• Passion for the latest web tools and technologies and understanding of web best practices, current trends in the marketplace, marketing aspects of websites, and the latest user and social networking web features
• Experience in all phases of the system development lifecycle including analysis/requirements, design, development, testing, and maintenance/operations
• Ability to define business and functional requirements
• Basic technical skills including experience with: HTML, content management systems, testing tools, bug tracking applications, SQL queries, Excel formulas/data manipulation
• Experience with automated test tools (i.e. Selenium, Watir, or comparable software)
• Extreme attention to detail
• Strong business and marketing acumen
• Strong work ethic
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a “start-up” environment
• Ability to present concepts and ideas to management and team members
• Experience with Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
• BS in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or other related field of technology or business
