GENERAL

Los Angeles based start-up is looking for a python developer who enjoys working up and down the application stack. You'll have a huge impact on the expansion of our platform and the growth of our small engineering team. Your time will be split between iterating on the product, developing new areas of functionality, and applying a maintainability and scaling-aware mindset to our core architecture.

Our existing code base is PHP so the person must know PHP.

BUT, we are already working on our new code base in Python - which means the person will be part of a core team building out a code base from near scratch - super fun!

Help us solve challenging problems, from adding location features, to looking for interesting patterns in our data, to assessing and implementing new technologies and building our technology to scale across all platforms.

ROLE AND OPPORTUNITY

The role would be that of the mid-senior developer on the team. Ideally, he / she is located in Los Angeles, but for the right person there is flexibility.

The person will be responsible for architecting, engineering, and owning the existing code base and growing and developing it per the product and tech roadmap he / she and the existing management team continue to evolve.

The opportunity can be full time or part time (minimum of 10-15 hours a week). We are looking for someone hungry to be part of the original development team and the equity upside that goes along with that. While everyone at the company is working off of equity compensation, this position would be looked to transition first to paid full-time (cash and equity) when funding is raised in the next three to six months.

The founders and management team are experienced internet executives who are passionate about changing the world and making a run at growing the company into a significant player in the ecommerce and green space.

The opportunity involves creating an extendable ecommerce site and product across all platforms, with a very strong social component, in the eco-friendly and healthy products genre that creates not only a truly unique destination, but also scales to power the ecommerce sections of tens of thousands of editorial sites while concurrently allowing people to label themselves as green and eco-friendly.

The company was founded in 2009 and launched into alpha in April 2010. As of September we have achieved significant traction with minimal resources

The company is beginning the process of raising professional financing and concurrently growing the company and product.

We appreciate diverse backgrounds in and out of technology. Experience with ecommerce and social networking and shopping, building content and data management tools, and a passion for the green space are a nice-to-haves, but not a must.
