Ooyala is seeking a Ruby on Rails Engineer to build and scale out our expansive REST APIs and web UI frontends written in Rails. This includes engineering powerful analytics querying capabilities, writing elegant and consistent APIs for managing and modifying millions of assets, reliably uploading huge files, and quickly adding well-tested customer-facing API features to help them get their businesses online.

We're looking for proficient hackers who possess the following:

Requirements

* Passion for building products used by millions worldwide
* BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
* 2 or more years of software development experience with Ruby and Rails
* 1 or more years experience with one of the following is a plus: Java, C, C++, or C#

Desired Skills

* SQL and database knowledge
* Javascript, Actionscript, CSS
* Experience with large scale consumer-facing products; distributed systems experience is a plus
* Strong API design skills and empathy for other programmers
* Strong analytical and communication skills
* Excellent work ethic and attention to detail; very organized
