
Party Earth is looking for a Web Development Lead to be the technical leader of the Party Earth website (www.partyearth.com) and web-related applications. The Web Development Lead will be responsible for driving the technical vision and implementation of PartyEarth.com and managing a team of programmers while also serving as the lead programmer.
Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary architect and point of contact for all technical aspects of PartyEarth.com and related applications
• Drive the technical design and development of PartyEarth.com and related applications
o Direct the design and implementation of innovative, cutting-edge features from concept to completion
o Research current and new web technologies and determine the appropriate mix of tools and technologies to effectively implement the product and features
o Develop and document workload estimates as part of the planning and budgeting process
• Lead the technical team through all phases of the system development lifecycle
o Translate business and functional requirements into technical design documentation including application design documents, data models, server configurations, and configuration management design/procedures
o Manage technical implementation including user interface development, application development, and database development
o Code core components of applications as the lead programmer
o Conduct documentation and code reviews
o Manage and conduct technical testing including test plans and documentation
o Manage and fix bugs and issues found during testing and ongoing operations
o Deliver functionality within estimated effort and timeframe
o Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure technical implementation meets the business and functional requirements
• Communicate technical and implementation status and issues to management
• Assess website and traffic needs to determine optimal server and performance configurations
• Oversee configuration management of development, test, and production environments
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 6-8 years of web development experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing technical web development professionals
• Proven team building and leadership experience in a web development environment
• Experience designing, implementing, and testing the following – ideally in the media and entertainment industry:
o Content-focused websites (written, photo, video, and user-generated content)
o User communities/Social networks
o Content management systems
o Mobile sites and mobile applications
o Search Engine Optimization
o Marketing and advertising components
o E-commerce/store/shopping cart
o Use of third-party sites, tools, and functionality (i.e. Google Maps, You Tube)
• Experience estimating effort and time required to complete projects
• Ability to define success criteria to meet and measure quality expectations
• Knowledge of web development best practices and the newest and current web technologies
• Ability to design and implement scalable applications and large scale, high traffic websites
• Ability to think outside the box and come up with original ideas for solving business problems using technology
• Experience in leading and/or programming throughout all phases of the system development lifecycle
• Ability to translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications, implement according to specifications, and test the code
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects for a single small team
• Experience in debugging and resolving production issues
• Ability to work in a team environment but also independently with minimum direction
• Strong work ethic
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills
• Extreme attention to detail
• Ability to work in a “start-up” environment
• B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field

• SVN (or other configuration management tools)
• Photo and video web technologies and applications
• Mobile application development/iPhone application development
• Mapping/geo-mapping technologies
• Software bug tracker tools
• Support for multiple browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
• Server configuration and maintenance
